Pope Francis' funeral: IT-alert used to inform and assist the faithful
The system can operate integratively and complementarily during the funeral and enthronement ceremony of the new Pontiff alongside institutional channels

Today, at 1:10 PM, the national public warning system was activated to provide important information for those traveling to St. Peter's for the funeral of Pope Francis.
The IT alert system may be used to deliver essential information to the public throughout the funeral and the subsequent enthronement ceremony of the new Pontiff. This will serve as a complementary resource alongside the communications from the relevant authorities, as mandated by the order of the Head of Department No. 1139 dated April 23, 2025.
The Council of Ministers has assigned Fabio Ciciliano, Head of the Civil Protection Department, to coordinate all related events. His responsibilities include overseeing mobility, reception, assistance, and healthcare activities for the population. He will work in collaboration with the Prefect of Rome, the Government Commissioner for the Jubilee, the President of the Lazio Region, and the Mayor of Rome.
